Hello Future Maryland Hoyas! My name is Elizabeth, I am a Sophomore in the College, and I absolutely love Georgetown and I cannot believe how quickly my freshman year went by! I am originally from Millersville, Maryland (half way between Annapolis and Baltimore). Georgetown is the perfect distance away - close enough to go home easily when I want to, but far enough away to really grow up. I went to a very small high school, and I was a little worried about making the transition to college, but I am having a great time here, and adjusting quite well. I love being in DC, the nation’s capital and a very exciting city, but still having the feel of a close community. The decision to come to Georgetown was pretty easy for me, I had loved Georgetown since my childhood and I was thrilled to gain acceptance. So far, Georgetown has been everything I expected it to be and more. My freshman year I was able to attend conferences and rallies, hear President Obama speak at Georgetown, present my independent research and be active in various theatrical endeavors. I love having a small enough school that it is easy to be actively involved on campus, and I have already enjoyed working with many different clubs and theatrical endeavors. I am a Pre-Med Student interested in neurology, and I know I eventually want to go into Cognitive and Behavioral Science, but I also recently developed an interest in Bioethics, which is why I am pursuing a philosophy major. Every day when I walk across campus, I fall more in love with Georgetown, I can’t imagine being anywhere else. I love being able to walk across campus and actually greet people on my way to class, I love the school spirit here, and of course watching Georgetown Basketball games. There are so many great, unique opportunities here, and I would love to talk to you and answer any questions you have or just to chat, hope to see you on the Hilltop!
