Hello Future Maryland Hoyas! My name is Elizabeth, I am a Sophomore in the College, and I absolutely love Georgetown and I cannot believe how quickly my freshman year went by! I am originally from Millersville, Maryland (half way between Annapolis and Baltimore). Georgetown is the perfect distance away - close enough to go home easily when I want to, but far enough away to really grow up. I went to a very small high school, and I was a little worried about making the transition to college, but I am having a great time here, and adjusting quite well. I love being in DC, the nation’s capital and a very exciting city, but still having the feel of a close community. The decision to come to Georgetown was pretty easy for me, I had loved Georgetown since my childhood and I was thrilled to gain acceptance. So far, Georgetown has been everything I expected it to be and more. My freshman year I was able to attend conferences and rallies, hear President Obama speak at Georgetown, present my independent research and be active in various theatrical endeavors. I love having a small enough school that it is easy to be actively involved on campus, and I have already enjoyed working with many different clubs and theatrical endeavors. I am a Pre-Med Student interested in neurology, and I know I eventually want to go into Cognitive and Behavioral Science, but I also recently developed an interest in Bioethics, which is why I am pursuing a philosophy major. Every day when I walk across campus, I fall more in love with Georgetown, I can’t imagine being anywhere else. I love being able to walk across campus and actually greet people on my way to class, I love the school spirit here, and of course watching Georgetown Basketball games. There are so many great, unique opportunities here, and I would love to talk to you and answer any questions you have or just to chat, hope to see you on the Hilltop!

She tells about her college that Oman medical college is private co-educational college situated in Bowshar, Muscat. It is in academic partnership with West Virginia University, USA. Oman Medical College is basically for the training of medical doctors and Pharmacists. Wafeeqa tells that college offers a 7-year program of study leading to the M.D. (Doctor of Medicine) and a four years and a half-year program of study leading to the Bachelor of Pharmacy degree. My name is Doriana and I'm 23 years old. I'm from Sicily, Italy and I graduated in November, 2008 in Public Relations and Adverti
sing from the University of Milan.
I came to San Francisco about three months ago and I'm trying to reach my goal, which is able to speak fluent English. In addition, I am proud to be a Student Worker because this gives me the opportunity to organize activities and to develop projects for the school, while remaining in close contact with students via the facebook page and this blog.
I attend the Embassy San Francisco school and I am completely in love with it, because it manages to combine a high disciplinary study level, with a sunny and friendly environment.
San Francisco is awesome. When you are walking, everything you see is absolutely fascinating. There are a lot of students from all over the world and it is very easy to make new friends and discover something unforgettable everyday. For this reason I'm happy to have gotten my visa in Italy and that this is valid for five years.

Kainaz Amaria (b. 1978, USA & India) is a photojournalist and multimedia producer with a B.A. in international relations from Boston University (2000) and a M.A. in visual communication from Ohio University (2008). After OU she completed photography internships at US News & World Report in Washington D.C. and with the St. Petersburg Times in Florida. Her images and multimedia projects have been recognized by numerous contests including the CPOY, Women in Photojournalism, Atlanta Photojournalism Conference, the NPPA Multimedia Contest, the Society of American Business Editors and Writers and by the South Asian Journalist Association. Kainaz was recently awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to Mumbai, India, where she will be based beginning November 2009.

“I made this image while working on my first picture essay during my graduate studies at Ohio University. The essay was a broad look at how the coal mining industry effected Southeastern Ohio. Coal mining once dominated this Appalachian region, however as the resource ran out, corporations left town leaving the surrounding communities in dire economic conditions. While spending time with people in this region, I witnessed the cyclical nature of poverty passed down from one generation to another. Many times it began with teenagers having children with little resources to raise a family. I wanted to somehow capture that in an image. I met Jamey at her high school prom. She and her boyfriend were inseparable on the dance floor, and as they passionately embraced I began making their picture. They later told me that Jamey was pregnant and they were getting married the following weekend.”

Tania is very happy with quality of life Zurich offers. Zürich can be counted as one of the world’s pre-eminent global cities. According to several surveys from 2006 to 2008, Zürich was named the city with the best quality of life in the world as well as the wealthiest city in Europe.
Tania takes tram everyday to her university and it takes about 20 minutes to get the university. Within Zürich and throughout the canton of Zürich, the ZVV network of public transport has traffic density ratings among the highest worldwide. If you add frequency, which in Zürich can be as often as 7 minutes, it does become the densest across all dimensions. Three means of mass-transit exist: the S-Bahn (local trains), trams, and buses (both diesel and electric, also called trolley buses).

Hi everyone! My name is Laura Brace and I’m a junior in the College majoring in Anthropology with a Spanish minor. I’m a dual US/UK citizen and I have spent most of my life living near London, where I attended an international school. I remember being worried about feeling out of place at a US university but it’s easy to feel at home here. There are a lot of international students here, and many people have lived abroad or speak other languages. You will find that American students are extremely welcoming and are very interested in other cultures. There are also a lot students from the UK here! So, if you ever do feel a bit homesick, there will always be someone with a stash of Cadbury’s or who knows the results of the latest Premiership clash. Having Washington D.C. on your doorstep is another great advantage. It’s a very international city—the seat of international organizations, and home to diplomats from around the world. The city is an incredible resource for Georgetown students. During my first semester here I was able to participate in an International Development Dinner on campus that boasted leaders at the forefront of international policy. There were guests from organizations like the US State Department and the World Bank. At Halloween (which is huge here in the States!), it is a Georgetown tradition to go trick-or-treating along Embassy Row, stopping to get sweets from international diplomats! Georgetown students get the best of both worlds—the strong community of a campus university, with all that a big city has to offer right on our doorstep. Although a move across the Atlantic can be intimidating, I know that you will fall in love with Georgetown. | |

Maintaining them is a different story. Before creating a mini garden, think carefully whether you have the time and interest to maintain it. Be informed that your garden needs to be watered on daily basis and tiny weeds needs to be pulled out every once in a while. You will need to fertilize your plants about once a month.

But the night was marred by angry protesters who had to be removed by cops from the Crystal club in Marylebone where the event was held.
The group, calling itself Miss-Ogynist University of London, said the contest degraded women.
Lillian He, 18, a politics and economics student at the School of Oriental and African Studies, said: "[The protesters] make it seem like we don't care about getting our degrees but that is wrong."
